Surrounded by the Maremma scrub, the Golf Club Punta Ala winds with gentle undulations of the land between domestic and maritime pines, cork oaks, ancient holm oaks, luxuriant oaks and albatross bushes. The course, opened in the spring of 1964, was built on an area of about 60 hectares by Giulio Cavalsani, who was able to position the undulating and large greens in the most strategic points of the available area and to characterize each hole with difficulty of various types, to satisfy players of all levels.

The field was voted by a jury of foreign journalists in 5^th place in Europe, besides a technical profile also for its spectacular position facing the sea and behind the luxuriant hills of Mediterranean vegetation.

The excellent turf has been obtained by sowing the bent - seaside on the greens and a new essence of bermuda for the fairways.
