THE MEDAL TOUR RULES
The Medal Touris a golf circuit divided into 32 competitions listed in the official calendar.
The Rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, adopted by the Italian Golf Federation, and the Local Rules of the host Club apply to the circuit.
1. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
All golfers registered with the Italian Golf Federation and their respective federations can participate in the circuit.
2. FORMULA
The circuit matches will be played in the MEDAL formula, 3 categories (hcp index 0-9.9 / 10-18 / 18.1-54, limited to playing handicap 36). Unless different organizational needs, the first category male players will start from the white tees set back, all the other players will start from the standard tees, i.e. red for women and yellow for men.
2nd and 3rd category players, on each hole, will be able to play a maximum of 5 shots over par; once the shots are exhausted they will score the par+5 (8 in par 3s, 9 in par 4s and 10 in par 5s).
The organization reserves the right to modify the game categories to ensure greater fair distribution of the number of participants for each category.
3. QUALIFYING STAGES
In each single qualifying race the following non-cumulative prizes are up for grabs: 1st - 2nd category net, 1° gross, 1st lady and 1st senior.
At the end of each race, on the basis of the general net classification of the category and on the basis of the general gross classification drawn up by the host club, a drawn up a seasonal points ranking divided into 4 categories:
- gross ranking
- ranking 1st category Hcp Index PLUS-9,9,
- ranking 2nd category Hcp Index 10-18
- ranking 3rd category Hcp Index 18.1-54
Points will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- 1° classified in category: 12 points
- 2° classified in category: 10 points
- 3° classified in category: 8 points
- 4° classified in category: 6 points
- 5° classified in category: 5 points
- 6° classified in category: 3 points
- 7° classified in category: 2 points
- 8° classified in category: 1 points
In every single stage it is 3 points (BONUS) will be assigned to each participant with a Green Pass Card.
In case of a tie between one or more players, will come considered the best net result, until the tie expires. In the case of a tie for first place, it will come played an 18-hole play-off.
4. NATIONAL FINAL
At the end of the season there will be a National Final was held on 18 October at the Crema Golf Resort. In case of adverse weather conditions, the final will be moved to the first available date.
The winners of each individual match (1st gross, 1st net of the 3 categories) and the first 10 players classified in each of the 4 national rankings will be able to participate as guests.
In case of renunciation or if those entitled do not confirm their participation within the established deadlines, players directly from the national ranking, up to 15th position, will be automatically removed and admitted.
5. FINALE
The first classified in the 4 national rankings and the winners of the National Final (1st gross, 1st net of each category), in total 8 players, will access the Final which will take place held by June 2025 over three consecutive days of competition.
6. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEES
The race committees will be formed for each individual race by the host club.
Any complaints must be presented and justified in writing to the Competition Committee within thirty minutes of the end of the competition. In case of failure to submit the complaint, the ranking will be changed. considered valid for all purposes. Any other complaints for admission to a race,they must be presented at least three days before the start of the session.
Any late complaint will be considered null.
All players who, during the year, in any match, undergo disciplinary proceedings by the FIG and are suspended or disqualified, will have the points acquired up to that point reset to zero. It will be possible to return to the ranking with suspended suspension or disqualification.
If, at the time of the Italian or foreign Final, the suspension or disqualification is still in progress, the player, even if qualified, will be deprived of the right to access it.
7. CHANGES TO THE REGULATION
The organizing committee of The Medal Tour reserves the right to make changes to these regulations at its sole discretion.
