Italian Majors
ITALIAN MAJORS REGULATIONS
Italian Majors is a golf circuit divided into 3 seasonal phases chronologically reported in the official calendar, 3 competitions called Majors and a National Final.
The Rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, adopted by the Italian Golf Federation, and the Local Rules of the host Club apply to the circuit.
1. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
All golfers registered with the Italian Golf Federation and their respective federations can participate in the circuit.
2. SEASONAL PHASES
The seasonal phases are divided into 7/11 qualifying stages, played with the 18-hole stableford formula 3 limited hcp categories (0-11,9 / 12-18 / 18,1-36), 1st and 2nd reserved, 3rd limited. The organization has the right to modify the game categories to ensure greater fair distribution of the number of participants for each category.
In each single qualifying race the following non-cumulative prizes are up for grabs: 1st-2nd; category net, 1st gross.
At the end of each single qualifying test, based on the overall net category ranking drawn up by the host club, a seasonal ranking (Open, Master, Championship) willl be drawn up based on points with a single category.
Points will be awarded based on the following criteria:
-1st classified in category: 25 points
-2nd classified in category: 20 points
-1st gross classificationof each category: 18 points
-3rd classified in category: 15 points
-4th classified in category: 12 points
-5th classified in category: 10 points
-6th classified in category: 8 points
-7th classified in category: 6 points
-8th classified in category: 5 points
-9th classified in category: 4 points
-10th classified in category: 3 points
-11th classified in category: 2 points
-12th classified in category: 1 point
In every single stage, 5 points (BONUS) will be assigned to each participant with a Green Pass Card.
The points acquired in each qualifying stage will be integrated into a single category national ranking.
The following stages provide, exclusively for Green Pass Card holders, the doubling of points:
Modena Golf & Country
Golf Colline del Gavi
Villa Paradiso (Major)
Golf Verona
Golf Cherasco
Golf Folgaria
Golf Cavaglià (Major)
San Valentino Golf Club
Golf Club Ambrosiano (Major)
3. MAJORS
The Majors are 3 stages played at the end of each seasonal phase called: OPEN, MASTER and CHAMPIONSHIP.
The net category winners and the first gross of each qualifying stage will acquire the right to participate as guests in the relevant seasonal Major.
All players who have achieved at least 15 points in the qualifying stages of the relevant season will also be able to participate and compete to win the Major (paid access); all other players will be able to participate (paid access) without however having the right to compete to win the Major.
The Majors will be played with an 18-hole stableford formula with 2 reserved hcp categories (0-18;19-36).
In each Major the following prizes will be up for grabs: 1st and 2nd category net, 1st gross
The first classified in the category and the first gross of each Major will acquire the right to directly access the National Final.
The points achieved during the Majors by each player will be doubled and integrated into the national ranking.
In case of a tie the FIG rules will apply
4. FINAL
At the end of the season there will be played a final in the Ryder Cup formula.
The 9 winners of the Majors and the top 15 players in the national ranking will be able to participate as guests and will form two teams. In cases of equality between one or more players in the National Rankingale, it will turn out the winner is the player with the best score received in one of the three Majors (OPEN, MASTER and CHAMPIONSHIP).
In case of renunciation or if those entitled do not confirm their participation, the players directly from the national ranking will be drawn back and admitted by right.
The National Final will be played with the RYDER CUP formula.
1st Day: 4PLM Match Play in pairs
2nd Day: Greensome Match Play in pairs
3rd Day: Single Match Play
In the National Final the ITALIAN MAJORS CHALLENGE will be assigned to the winning team.
During the final, points will be awarded based on the following criterion:
- for each point brought to the team: 50 points
- for every 1/2 point brought to the team: 25 points
- 0 points brought to the team: 0 points
The points obtained in the Final will be added and integrated into the single category national ranking.
The first player in the ranking will be the"Player of the year".
5. TOURNAMENTS COMMITTEES
The race committees will be formed for each individual stage by the host club.
Any complaints must be presented and justified in writing to the Competition Committee within thirty minutes of the end of the competition. In case of failure to submit the complaint, the ranking will be considered valid for all purposes. Any other complaints for admission to a stage must be presented at least three days before the start of the tournament.
Any late complaint will be considered null.
All players who during the year, in any match, are suspended or disqualified based on the FIG 3/3B rule will have the score acquired up to that point reset to zero.
It will be possible to re-enter the ranking with suspended suspension or disqualification.
If, at the time of the Italian Final, the suspension or disqualification is still in progress, the player, even if qualified, will be deprived of the right to access it.
6. CHANGES TO THIS REGULATIONS
The Italian Majors committee reserves the right to make changes to this regulation and the competition calendar in every moment.
