Emilia is the most suitable region to give oneself up to delight in its every single form and to the pursuit of hedonism. The outgoing and hospitable inhabitants of this land have a strong sense of belonging, of preserving of traditions and family values. One can practise here every kind of sport, by making use of the most excellent structures and services; for golf, but also for biking, horse riding, free climbing, rafting and rowing, ski, trekking and much more, thanks to the different features of this land.
The Apennine mountains have the highest summits in the province of Reggio Emilia: steep slopes and water-eroded rocks together with oak, pines and chestnut woods, century old trees with magnificent trunks enrich this area. Many rivers, most of them are Po affluent, run through this valleys, while at an altitude from 1000 to 1800 m you find fascinating water mirrors such as the Lake Verde, near Parma.
Many are the arts and culture routes. In Bologna, centre of the oldest University of Italy (XI century), there are uncountable monuments of great artistic worth: the Palace of the Senators, the porticos of the town streets, Piazza Maggiore, with its big medieval buildings, the gothic cathedral of S. Petronio. In Ferrara, UNESCO World Heritage from 1995 because of the worthy town planning of its harmonious old town; in Modena the Este dynasty left important heritages, among which the splendid Galleria Estense, containing some great pieces of art.
